Creating More Happiness ~ 4 Tips to Help CelebrateYOU!

Updated: Oct 20, 2020

It was one of the best birthdays I have had in a long time. Why?

I asked myself the same question, and this is what I came up with!

1. I spent time feeding my soul:

I took my actual birthday ~ Sunday ~ as a day for myself. I went to the beach, made some journal entries, went to a meditation session with my favorite meditation guru, Michele Risa, had a drink at a midtown rooftop bar, and then went dancing. I did not plan any of these activities with anyone else, and it was delightful to have time doing the things that make me feel more connected to my true self.

2. I was surrounded by people who uplift me:

I had two birthday dinners ~ One in Pittsburgh the weekend before my birthday and one here in New York the weekend after my birthday. It was wonderful to be surrounded by people who honor me and love me. Both dinners were intimate, and I was very choosy as to whom I invited. I only wanted people who are uplifting in my life. And uplifted I was!

3. I fed my body:

I included golf and my favorite dance venues (Pittsburgh and New York) for my birthday celebrations. I played golf in both cities with people I love and went to my favorite dance spots. In New York, I chose LVG (Sundays at 6:00 p.m.). Giving my body what it needs physically to give me energy and vitality and pure stress relief.

4. I included My Family and also Created Boundaries:

Belen, my three-year-old daughter, is the driving force in my life. I want to set the example that self-care makes us better in all things, including motherhood. She was at one of my birthday dinners, went golfing with me, and got a FaceTime call from the beach! It was important that she be a part of my celebration! It was also important to have time for myself with others I love.

It is said that Happiness is simply stringing as many moments as you can that make you joyful. This way, these moments become continuous and create a Happy Life! I was able to create these moments during my birthday celebrations, and I hope to continue following these tips to create a whole lot more of it in my life . . . I challenge you all to do the same!
