What is your Bliss?

What is your Bliss?

I am in a moment of bliss as I write this blog. I am sitting on a patio overlooking the ninth hole at Woodway Country Club in Darian, CT. Today is game day. I am about 2 hrs early for my tee time in order to get some work done before I play in the Stroke Play Championship “A” Division for the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association (WMGA).

I am now in my third month of returning back to competition after a 12-year hiatus. And in case you missed it, my return to golf culminated in Winning the Women’s Public Links Championship for the Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA)!

It has been such a fantastic experience returning back to competing. I’m returning to what I love and all the energy associated with it. If you want to read more about that individual journey, read our June Newsletter HERE.

What this experience has really resonated with me as a business owner and a Productivity Coach is the importance of finding and enjoying your Bliss.

You have heard me talk so many times about how to be Productive, Doing what you love, and how to make yourself a Priority. Today I am going to focus on why it is so important to follow and make time for your bliss.

Here are the 4 steps to doing it!

Find your Bliss

Most of us already know what this is. Where and when are you the happiest? It could be at a cafe reading, sitting down to do freestyle writing, yoga (as Tatum has written about,) beach time, a forest walk, or spending time with friends or family. It actually does not matter what it is, it is just important that you know what it is.

If you are thinking, “I don’t know what that is…” It is ok! And, you can find it. Just start paying attention to when you are happy. Or, when time just disappears. When are you completely immersed and time just flies by? Those are the moments you are in your happy place. For lots of us, there are many of these moments, throughout our day or our week.

Make a plan to incorporate your Bliss every week.

Yes, you can!

We all make time for the things that are most important. So, make your “bliss” time one of those things. Figure out how you can fit in that 2 hr pocket of writing time, a once-a-week yoga class, a weekly date night, or in my case, a once-a-week golf round.

If you can even wake up 30 minutes earlier every day to make a daily routine of working out or taking a walk outdoors... Make time.

BIG Results for making time for your Bliss.

There are so many, here are just a few of my favorites.

  • A happier version of you! This means at work, as a parent (if that is applicable,) as a friend, and as you!

  • You will have more energy! Yep, when you tap into your happiness source, you tap into your energy source. Even with once-a-week practice of something you really love, you will feel like you are freeing your body and mind.

  • You will feel more relaxed. When we are in our bliss, we are really living in the present the most fully we possibly can. This means it is a meditative state which causes our brains to rest, so we are at peace.

Support others in helping them make time for their bliss.

This is a big one. Whether that means picking up the little one a few times a week so that your partner can practice their bliss, or offering a free babysitting service to a friend so that they can get some alone time or time with their partner, help people you love to get time for their bliss.

You also know how passionate I am about this as it is my personal mission and the mission of our business. We want to facilitate You Doing What You Love.

Today, make it your mission to do one thing that brings you happiness. For me, I am going to spend the next 5 hrs competing in golf. Complete and utter bliss!
